From its beginning as a Task Force in 2001, the Museum of Glass Made in America (MOGMIA), Inc.
has been devoted to preserving the history of the American tableware glass industry and
extending that goal to include all 400-years of glass making in America.
The MOGMIA Mission
- To preserve artifacts and information in a building designed to create an aesthetic experience of artistry and beauty in a park-like setting.
- To create an environmentally sound green building, an architectural wonder, which will not only inform visitors of the past, but will look forward to the future.
-
To provide a complete experience of glass manufacturing, including industrial, technical, and studio glass, as well as elegant and depression glass tableware.
- To present high quality exhibits, media, and other educational tools using the latest technology that will entice visitors of all ages.
- To encourage visitors to understand the enormous role glass plays in everyone's life.
