Future site of the Museum of Glass Made in America |
The Museum of Glass Made in America, Inc. designed to provide a complete experience
of glass manufacturing in America, will demonstrate a time when resourcefulness, skill
and hard physical labor produced every conceivable kind of glass from tableware to
automobile windshields and fiber optics.
The planned 100,000 square foot building will be constructed using sustainable green
architecture and landscaping. Within the museum, American glass will be showcased
as well as design concepts, manufacture, advertising and sales. Interactive exhibits and
a hot shop where visitors may view glass being made will be a highlight of the museum
experience. In addition, a theatre will provide programs to educate visitors about the
many different uses of glass both currently and in our past.
Situated in a park-like setting on the Texas prairie, the museum will invite visiting
families and school children to enjoy the grounds as well as the museum itself.
